Like Attracts Like: The Energy Behind Your Healing

Back when I was still walking around on my bone-on-bone knee, I noticed something strange. Every time someone at work would ask, “How’s your knee?” and I answered, “It hurts,”… it got worse.

I know that sounds weird. I’m not saying I made it up or was pretending. The pain was real. But the moment I gave it voice? It almost felt like it doubled.

Eventually, I stopped saying “it hurts.”

Instead, I’d say, “I’m actually really looking forward to having it replaced.”

And my friends thought I was lying.

They’d laugh and roll their eyes like, “Sure you are.”

But I wasn’t lying. I was practicing. Because every time I said how miserable I was, I felt worse. That language kept me stuck. So I flipped it. What if I just tried something different? What if I aimed for a higher frequency?

Everything Carries Energy (Yes, Even You)

Here’s the thing I learned—before surgery even happened. Every word you speak, every emotion you sit in, every belief you hold… it all carries a frequency.

And energy responds to energy.

You, me, your dog, the oregano plant on your windowsill—we all carry energy. It’s measurable. It’s real. And it’s always in motion. Even stuff that doesn’t seem “alive,” like a rock or your metal knee implant, still holds energy at the atomic level.

But living energy? That stuff shifts. That’s where it gets powerful—because your body responds to the energy of your thoughts and feelings. Literally.

The Oregano Analogy

Think of oregano. Fresh vs dried.

I’ve had both next to each other—and the difference is wild. The plant smells alive, potent, and bright. The dried stuff? It’s still oregano… just muted. The life force is still there, but it needs more to do the same work.

We’re the same way.

When you’re lit up with gratitude or hope or faith, your energy feels vibrant. But when you’re drained, discouraged or hurting, your energy dries out. That doesn’t mean it’s gone—it just needs rehydrating.

Pain Lowers Your Frequency—But You’re Not Powerless

Pain is dense. It slows your vibration. You feel heavy. Foggy. Exhausted.

But here’s what I want you to know: pain is feedback, not a death sentence. It’s your body saying, “Hey, I need your attention here.”

And the second you bring compassion into that space—like saying, “I’m safe. I’m healing. I’m grateful for this body”—you start raising your frequency again. You bring light into the density. That’s where healing starts.

Real Life: Shifting Energy Mid-Recovery

Not every day was sunshine and smooth steps. On the half-recovery days—the ones where everything felt dry and off—I’d grab a favorite movie, or go sit outside. Something simple, something soothing. That’s how I rehydrated my energy.

One day in PT, I was in real pain. I wanted to leave. But instead of spiraling, I focused on the person I was talking to. Just that little shift pulled me up a notch. From “this hurts” to “I’m here and I can handle it.”

Even one notch higher makes a difference.

The Yetter Getter Way

This mindset—refusing to see things only through the lens of pain—it saved me. It still does.

Inside the Knee Replacement Hub, I’ve got audios, videos, worksheets and faith-based tools that walk you through this exact work. You don’t have to be perfect. You just need a place to start.

If this energy stuff feels out of reach right now, that’s okay too. Let it land. Let it sit. If it helps, use it. If not, come back when you’re ready. No pressure. Just options.

Meet Suzie Andrade

I was 41 when I was told I needed a knee replacement.
And that my other knee would likely follow.

That sentence alone changed how I moved through the world.

I stopped playing softball.
I stopped walking just to "walk".
I avoided stairs. Curbs. Parking far away for extra steps.
Even the small, normal things started to feel like obstacles.

One day, I was on the beach, walking through the sand and muttering under my breath with every painful step. I wanted to walk down to the water, but it felt too far. That was the day I drew a very real line in the sand and decided I couldn’t keep living this way.

I had my left knee replaced at 45, my right hip at 46 and my right knee at 48.

What I didn’t know then was that pain would shape my purpose.

Each surgery taught me more than how to heal a body. It taught me resilience, patience and how much faith we carry when we’re forced to slow down and keep going. It also showed me this: there are real gaps in the knee replacement "adventure".

Doctors and physical therapists do important work, but they don’t talk about everything — the fear, the frustration, the days when healing feels invisible. Not because they don’t care. Because they haven’t lived it. I have.

That’s why I created the Yetter Getter Mindset and why I show up as your Holistic Knee Replacement Coach — to fill in the spaces that get skipped so recovery feels doable, supported and human.
