When people ask me what made the biggest difference in my total knee replacement recovery, they’re usually expecting me to say something like supplements, exercises, or the right surgeon. And while all of those things matter... they weren’t the spark that lit the fire for me.

The truth is, my favorite way to ensure a successful knee replacement recovery had nothing to do with my body — and everything to do with my desire.
Let me explain.

I’m a big-vision kind of gal.

I’ve always been good at picturing things that don’t exist yet. You want a dream chased? A goal cast? A Pinterest board for your next 10 years? I’m your girl.
But I know not everyone is wired that way.

Maybe you can’t see it yet. Maybe you’re still in the thick of pain or fear. Maybe the idea of thinking ahead just feels... fuzzy. And that’s OK.

You don’t need a picture-perfect vision board to make a change. But you do need to get clear on one thing:

What do you truly desire from your knee replacement?

Not what you want... what you desire.
There’s a difference.

Why desire matters for knee replacement recovery

Wants are casual. “I want to walk better.” “I want to sleep through the night.” They’re polite, low-risk, and honestly — they don’t cost us anything emotionally.
But desire pulls from a deeper place.

Desire says:
“I desire to kneel again.”
“I desire to dance at my own wedding.”
“I desire to see a flight of stairs and not get a pit in my stomach.”

Desire gets personal. It tugs at your heart. It moves you toward an outcome.
And when you back that desire with faith? Whew. Now we’re talking real power.

Faith and fear have one thing in common

They both ask you to believe in something you can’t see.
Think about that.

Faith and fear are fueled the same way — by your belief in something that hasn’t happened yet.
But only one of them leads you where you want to go.

So what happens when you tie your deepest desire to faith instead of fear?
You begin to move differently.

You start to prepare for your knee surgery like your outcome is already on its way.

You show up to physical therapy with a “watch me” attitude.

You hold the vision of walking strong, moving free, living fully.

And you don’t let go.

Plant your desire in faith

This isn’t about manifesting in the trendy way. This is about getting real with yourself and saying, “Here’s what I deeply desire… and I choose to believe it’s possible.”

That’s the shift I made during my own knee replacement recovery.

I desired to be successful so much that it made me want to take my supplements.
It made me
want to show up for my exercises.

And yep — it made me
want to cry some real tears on the bathroom floor when it got hard… because I was all in.

That desire — backed by faith — pulled me forward on the days when motivation ran out.

So I want to ask you again: What do you desire from your knee replacement?

Say it out loud. Write it down. Drop it in the comments if you’re feeling brave.

Because when you plant your desire in faith and water it daily — with hope, with prayer, with action — you give it a chance to grow. 🌱✨

I want you to win.

That’s why I talk about desire with so much passion — because I know what it feels like to come out the other side and live with freedom, confidence, and ease in my body again.

If you’re even a little unsure where to start or how to build your vision... I made a free resource just for you.

Meet Suzie Andrade

I was 41 when I was told that I needed a knee replacement and then likely my other knee would face the same fate.

stopped playing softball.
stopped walking just to walk.
I stopped using stairs and curbs. (Yes, CURBS!)
stopped parking miles away from the store simply to get extra steps.

One day, I was on the beach, walking through sand and cursing every painful step. I wanted to walk to the water, but it was not possible. The water’s edge was too far. It was that moment I decided enough.

I drew the proverbial line in the sand and made a decision to get it done. I was 43 years old.

I was 45 for my left knee replacement and 46 (7 months later) for the right knee replacement, because I pushed the knee too long before replacing it.  I had my right knee replaced at 48.

I had no idea that in that pain I would find purpose. I am so grateful that each of the joints have way surpassed my expectations for recovery. Mostly because I knew they would. I had no doubt they would.

I now share the Yetter Getter Mindset and the way I got through those recoveries in a thriving free community on Facebook.
